Butternut squash is the perfect addition to any herbivore's salad! Pairing well with high calcium greens, the calcium to phosphorous pairing ensures you and your scaley babies grow strong healthy bones.
Sow seeds indoors about 3-4 weeks before your last frost. Once the chance of frost has passed and temps are atleast in the 60's you can transplant seedlings outdoors. Your plants will need atleast 6 hours of full sun being sure they do not overheat. Once fruit is ripe, cut off of the vine and cure for 1-2 weeks so that the skin hardens and you can store long term.
You will have enough squash for you and your babies!
